bon weekend

top 5 expat-life update:
1. Jardins de Luxembourg and sitting around the Senate fountain whilst in good company on a sunny Saturday morning is now my favorite park over the likes of Central (NYC), Piedmont, Grant (Chitown), etc...c'est tres tres bon :)
2. maybe it was the influence of the sunny weather that made me brave, but i finally tried escargots...they were amazingly delicious!
3. while France may lack comfort foods of childhood such as mac & cheese, they do wonderfully make up for it in the form of dishes like aligot ...a wonderful amazing blend of mashed potatoes and cheese that you need to eat with a fork and knife.
4. i have succumbed to the euro(or perhaps, mainly french/italian)-style of enjoying a daily (or sometimes multiple, if post-meal) espresso. pictured above is of the morning ritual, petit pain du chocolat version.
5. my french language skills are improving due to immersion via work sessions/trainings tout en francais and diligent practice...i can read pretty well, understand spoken a bit quicker...now if only the quick conjugation and vocab recollection would fall into place haha.
